We offer a variety of Respite Services to meet the schedule needs of working families and caregivers of individuals with disabilities, as well as to provide them with a break from the constant care and everyday routines. Click on a link below to learn more:

Art-Focused After School/After Work Respite:This art-based after school/after work program is offered in conjunction with The Art Center of the Capital Region in Troy. The program is geared to individuals ages 16 and up who have an interest in visual arts and being part of a community of artists. Participants, who must be HCBS waiver eligible, will be able to take classes (e.g. multi-media art, pottery, woodworking, photography, and dance), help with volunteer duties at the Art Center and other nearby non-profits, and enjoy the downtown area. The program has its own accessible room, access to studio/culinary space for classes, and the opportunity to view the ever-changing galleries. We also have gallery space for an annual exhibition of the participants’ work, and the program will participate in the art-focused Troy Night Out on the last Friday during the months of January-November from 5-8 p.m. For more information, call (518) 427-2249
Overnight Respite: Located in Guilderland, our Overnight Respite Program operates 7 days a week for those 6 years and older. For more information, please call (518) 456-0559.
Weekend Respite:Located in Schenectady, our Weekend Respite is available for those ages 6 and older. For more information, please call (518) 631-0963.
Community Skills Respite: Offers community participation through a variety of supervised recreational activities to foster peer interaction and development of skills to increase independence for individuals with developmental disabilities. For more information, please call (518) 464-4085, ext. 8.
Medicaid Waiver In-Home Respite: Medicaid Waiver approved participants, who live at home with other family members, are eligible for In-Home Respite services. Services provided are a respite to the caregiver(s) and consist of in-home recreation and in-home skill building for the participant. In-Home Respite does not offer overnight services. Available hours are based on the participant’s needs and staffing resources. For more information, call (518) 384-3081.
