Peeyush Mittal, M.D.

Dr Mittal has been with Center Health Care at the Center for Disability Services since 2005. His practice focuses on evaluation and medication management, in conjunction with team collaboration from the Psychology and Social Work Departments.

       Dr. Mittal received his medical degree from King George’s/Chattarpati Sahuji Medical College in India, where he performed his Residency in Psychiatry.  He later became the Chief Resident of Psychiatry at the VA Medical Center in Brockton, MA, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.  He also completed a Clinical Fellowship in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Mittal also had the distinct honor of conducting a fellowship with the Eli Lilly U.S. Psychiatric Congress.

       Dr. Mittal also practices at Family Counseling Services in Gloversville, NY; Bick Wanck, M.D. and Associates in Saratoga Springs, NY; and Baywood Center in Queensbury, NY. Prior to his appointment at Center Health Care, he was a Consultant Psychiatrist at various healthcare facilities in Delaware and Maryland, including, more recently, Crownesville Hospital in Crownesville, MD; Lewes Convalescent Center in Lewes, DE; Milford Center in Milford, DE; Chancellor Care Center in Delmar, DE; and Stockley Center in Millsboro, DE.

       Dr. Mittal has conducted research in clinical psychiatry, and has documented his work in various articles, including: “A Clinical Study of Suicidal Behavior in Psychiatrically Disordered Children and Adolescents”; “Algorithms for Pharmacotherpay of Agitation in Dementia”; and "Frontal and Temporal Lobe Changes in Schizophrenia”.

       Dr. Mittal is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
