Hakeem Nicks at the 52nd Telethon

SuperBowl Bound Hakeem Nicks at Center for Disability Services Telethon

SuperBowl bound New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has just confirmed he will be a featured guest in the sports area at the 52nd Annual Center for Disability Services Telethon on Sunday, January 29. Nicks will join Yankee relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain and sign autographs from noon to 3 p.m. for $25 per autograph, with a limit of one autograph per player, per person. The Center expects long lines of fans. The all live, all local telethon broadcast airs on WXXA/FOX23 News (cable channel 8) and is held at the Holiday Inn Albany on Wolf Road.

Nicks, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, was a standout in high school and played for the University of North Carolina. In the 2009 NFL draft, he went in the first round, pick #29. He made his debut with the Giants that same year.
Nicks has been a factor in the Giants 2011-2012 season, culminating in the NFC Championship win on Sunday.

Nicks joins a lineup of NFL players who have appeared at the Center’s Telethon, including Adam Koets/Giants (2011), Rich Seubert/Giants (2010), Steve Smith and Derrick Ward/Giants (2009), Steve Smith/Giants (2008) right before the Giants SuperBowl win that year; Stanley Wilson/Detroit Lions (2007), and Andre Davis/Cleveland Browns (2005).
