“Bones” Star T.J. Thyne at Center for Disability Services Telethon T.J. Thyne, who plays Dr. Jack Hodgins on the FOX hit show “Bones” will join the line up in Albany at the 52nd Center for Disability Services Telethon on Sunday, January 29. Thyne will be a special guest on the broadcast which airs from noon to 7 p.m., on WXXA/FOX23 News, live from the Holiday Inn Albany on Wolf Road. T.J. Thyne was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and went to high school in Plano, Texas. He is a 1997 graduate of the theatre program at the University of Southern California. An actor, writer and producer, he has appeared in dozens of television shows, and since 2005, has played the role of entomologist Dr. Jack Hodgins on “Bones.” According to Thyne, the role has brought him an unexpected opportunity: he is in demand as a motivational speaker at high schools and colleges, where he talks with students and promotes the study of science, especially forensics. Thyne will be joined by Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone from another popular FOX show, “New Girl,” pitcher Joba Chamberlain from the New York Yankees, the FOX23 News team, and the on-air staff from radio station Country 107.7 WGNA FM. The broadcast will feature dozens of talented local performers and will introduce viewers to child representative Maya Vasquez, a 3 year old student in the Center’s CloverPatch Program Preschool M.O.V.E. (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) class; and young adult representative Robert Gray, a 17 year old student in the Center’s Langan School who lives on Consaul Road in a Center residence. The telethon promotes community awareness and is a fund-raiser for the Center for the Disability Services, known as the place where people get better at life, a not-for-profit organization with a 70 year history. The Center’s mission is to enable and empower people, primarily those with disabilities, to lead healthy and enriched lives.
