Evan Engram from Giants Joins Yankee Manager Aaron Boone at #518Gives Telethon

Evan Engram, rookie tight end for the New York Giants, will join Aaron Boone, manager of the New York Yankees, as special sports guests at the #518Gives Telethon to benefit the Center for Disability Services on Sunday, January 28. The pair will sign autographs for fans in the sports area, presented by UHY LLP, at the Radisson Hotel Albany, 205 Wolf Road. Engram will be available from noon to 3 p.m. while Boone will sign autographs from noon to 2 p.m. All proceeds from the telethon support the Center and its divisions, Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, Life Quality Solutions Incubator, Prospect Center in Queensbury and St. Margaret’s Center.

Engram was drafted by the Giants with the 23rd pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft and signed a four year contract with the team in June. He made his NFL debut in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Born in Powder Springs, Georgia, he played college football for Ole Miss.

In spite of a tough season, the New York Giants continue to have a large and loyal fan base in Albany. The Giants have played a major part in the Center’s Telethon for a decade. Special guests from previous years include Paul Perkins (2017), Jason Pierre-Paul (2016), Rashad Jennings (2015), Andre Brown (2014), Martellus Bennett (2013), Hakeem Nicks (2012), Adam Koets (2011), Rich Seubert (2010), Steve Smith and Derrick Ward (2009) and Steve Smith (2008).

All donations to #518Gives Telethon stay in the area to benefit local individuals with disabilities and their families. The all live, all local broadcast airs on WXXA/FOX23 (cable channel 8 or check listings) from noon to 7 p.m. The Center for Disability Services, celebrating 75 years of service to the community, is known as the place where people get better at life.
