Get ready to celebrate a golden anniversary... the 50th Center for Disability Services Telethon Sunday, January 31st, 2010 Tune in to WXXA FOX23 |
50th Annual Center for Disability Services Telethon Kennedi Banks, our Child Representative, is a 9 year old student at Langan School who uses a wide variety of Center services. She operates specialized equipment with adapted switches and is practicing with a DynaVox, a computerized communication device, in class. Matt Pezzula, our Adult Representative, is an aspiring actor currently working on a theater project at Cohoes Music Hall. He lives in a residence operated by the Center, and enjoys music, dancing, and acting. Inspirational stories will focus on: Denis Riker, the son of an original Center founder... his story incorporates elements of Telethon history The LaFountain Triplets Anthony, Chandler, and Luke-Richard, who travel from Keeseville with their mother every Friday in order to have therapy and receive health care at the Center Seamus Callaghan, who attends CloverPatch preschool in Albany and receives service coordination and after school services at the Center Tahmid Emran, a resident of St. Margaret's Center who attends the in-house Langan School program at St. Margaret's Our capable and talented hosts from media partner FOX23 News include news anchors John Gray and Ann Hughes; meteorologist Steve Teeling; sports director Rich Becker; sports caster Scott Morlock; and Mark Baker from DayBreak morning news.
