Prospect Center - Queensbury
Prospect Center is a not-for-profit, private organization, which provides a variety of services to children and adults with mental retardation, physical challenges or developmental disabilities who live in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga counties.

COMMUNITY SERVICES PROFESSIONAL


Part-time & Full-time positions available in the greater Capital District including Warren, Washington & Northern Saratoga counties. CSP’s provide services to developmentally disabled individuals of all ages in a 1:1 setting in the community or in private homes for the Community Habilitation and In Home Respite departments. CSP’s provide caregiver’s a respite and provide individuals learning opportunities in activities of daily living to achieve independence. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid, clean, insurable NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Must be at least 18 years old and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to apply for this position.

SERVICE COORDINATOR - Prospect Center, Queensbury


The Service Coordinator works extensively to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to identify and access available community resources. The Service Coordinator, along with the individual, family, school and other community service providers, assess needs, provide linkage and referral to community services and is responsible for monitoring these services. Associate’s degree in field of Health and Human Services (or related field) required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 1 year of related experience, specifically in: working with people with disabilities or at least 1 year of related experience, specifically in: Case Management. Must be at least 18 years old and be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds to apply for this position. This position requires reliable transportation, telecommuting is required.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR - Prospect Center (Part-time, Seasonal)


The Swim Instructor will instruct all swim lessons and activities and will ensure the safety of all people in the pool area for the Prospect Center Swim Program. This person will ensure that all life-saving equipment is maintained and accessible in the swimming pool area. Ability to follow directions, communicate, recognize dangerous situations and correct them quickly.  High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Program runs every Thursday beginning May 11th – June 15th at Queensbury Union Free School. Hours are 4:00pm – 6:30pm.

MASTER SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - Prospect Center, Queensbury


The teacher serves as a leader of the classroom, providing direction to an interdisciplinary team of professionals and paraprofessionals, supervising and directing the work of classroom education staff, and collaborating with parents, school districts and other agencies to ensure that student needs are met. New York State permanent certification is preferred. Preferred Qualifications include: a Masters Degree in Special Education and a minimum of two years of experience with students with multiple disabilities. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently.

TEACHING ASSISTANT - Prospect Center (Pre-School), Queensbury (FT and Relief positions available)


Assist the teacher with activities designed to address student’s needs as outlined on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Duties may include preparing classroom materials, direct instruction of students, and custodial care of students.  High School Diploma or GED required; college credits preferred.  Less than 1 year of job related experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is acceptable.  Must obtain NYS Teaching Certification within one year of hire and maintain the certification during the course of employment.  Must be at least 18 years old to apply for this position. DINING ASSISTANT - (Part Time) PROSPECT CENTER, QUEENSBURY


To support the Langan school by dining with students in a cafeteria setting,as assigned by the Dining Coordinator. The dining assistant will implement student specific dining plans including setting up, assisting the student with their meal, and cleaning up the area. The duties may include but are not limited to; following mobility fact sheets, dining fact sheets, behavior intervention plans and direct care plans of students. High School diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a minimum of 18 college credits preferred. Must be at least 18 years old to apply for this position.
