and that was proven on Sunday at the #518gives Fundraiser. We raised a record breaking $2,309,629 thanks to the incredible support from the 518 community and beyond. Thank you to all who tuned in, visited us at Colonie Center, and donated to support the programs, services and mission at the Center for Disability Services.
With the community support, thousands of people Get Better At Life! We couldn’t do this without you. On behalf of the Center for Disability Services and the thousands of individuals we support, THANK YOU!
We wanted to thank and congratulate our Foundation team for their efforts in the organization and planning of the #518gives Fundraiser! The change of venue to Colonie Center was spectacular, the talent was fantastic, and the volume of people who passed by our stage and talent areas was as large and steady as any in past memory.
We would also like to thank all of our staff and volunteers who worked in so many ways over the weekend, without your incredible dedication, this event could never have been made possible. A special mention to our IT and facilities staff, who worked through the weekend to make sure our set, power supply and phones were all ready to go.
There are too many staff and too many functions to name or list, however, we want to thank all of you for making this #518gives fundraiser the best one we have had to date. It was the ultimate example of how the team at the Center rallies when it counts the most. Thank you again to all involved, you should take great pride in the wonderful event that took place yesterday, and the tremendous impact it will have on the individuals we support and their families in the coming year.
We invite you to join us and watch the broadcast in person! On Sunday, January 26th, the 60th Anniversary of the #518gives Fundraiser (formerly known as the #518gives Telethon) will air on WXXA/FOX23, Cable channel 8, or channel 7 in the North Country.
#518gives is hosted by local on-air talent from News10 ABC and Albany Broadcasting Company. Anchors from News10 will host the main stage, and on-air radio personalities will host the talent stage, where we will see performances from singers and dancers from around the Capital Region.
