Dani began working at Clover Patch and Camp Spectacular in summer 2011. A former lifeguard, Dani spent her first summer as a camp counselor and loved it right from the start.
She has filled many roles at Clover Patch over the years, including camp counselor, lifeguard, head cook, aquatics director and assistant director. She was named camp director in 2015. Summer 2019 will be Dani’s ninth summer at Clover Patch and fourth as director.
Dani has a bachelor’s degree in history from Binghamton University. She planned to become a high school history teacher but everything changed when she accepted a counselor position at Clover Patch. She knew by the end of the first session that working with people with disabilities was something she could see herself doing forever. She feels incredibly lucky to have a career working in her favorite place with her favorite people.
When she’s not at camp, Dani likes to spend her time hiking, reading and spending time with friends and family.
Travel has always been very important to Dani. Clover Patch Camp hires staff from all over the world and she feels lucky to have been able to visit some of her friends who are former Clover Patch staff. In 2014 she had the opportunity to move to Colombia to teach English. She lived there for 5 months and was hosted by Colombian friends she had met at camp.
